The board of directors is made up of a selection of committed Trichologists, all with different unique specialities, who are responsible for the development and maintenance of different aspects of the Institute, with our registrants at the forefront of everything we do.
Dr Sharon Wong
President
Dr Sharon Wong is a UK trained, GMC-registered Consultant Dermatologist based in London, practising at The Shard, Old Broad Street and Harley Street. She is one of the UK’s few dermatologists to specialise in hair and scalp disorders and is the current President of the Institute of Trichologists (IOT). Renowned as one of London’s most sought-after specialists, Dr Sharon has carved a unique niche by integrating medical trichology with dermatology — an approach she developed to overcome the limitations of traditional trichology and to demystify the complexities of skin, hair loss and scalp conditions. Her work spans the full spectrum of medical dermatology, with particular expertise in complex hair loss and scalp disorders across all hair types, including Asian and Afro-Caribbean patients.
