The information held on our members include their qualifications, clinic contact information and CPD points for the previous 2 years. Some of our members choose to list ‘Specialisms’ – this does NOT mean that this is their only area of practice, all members have been trained to deal with all aspects of hair and scalp disorders.

Subscribing registered members who have qualified with the IOT are entitled to use their post graduate letters of AIT,  AITAfter successful completion of our two-year course the graduate becomes a fully qualified Trichologist and applies to the Board of Directors to join the Institute of Trichologists as an Associate member of The IoT (AIT). AIT’s are qualified to practice in a clinic, however, to gain full membership in the IoT and become a MIT (full member of The IoT) they must undertake our mentorship programme. MIT or MITMentorship is for a two-year period where the AIT submits, to their Mentor, a number of anonymous case histories from their own consultation practice, to ensure the Trichologist is adhering to our code of ethics and upholding the IoT’s high standard. Upon submitting all the required documents, the Mentor advises the Board of Directors if the AIT has met all criteria for full membership and an application is submitted to the Board. If approved, the AIT then can use the post graduate MIT letters after their name. FIT. FITFellowship of the Institute (FIT) is awarded by invitation at the discretion of the Board following outstanding contributions to the IoT or submitting academic research within the Trichology industry.
