Patient Experience Survey Results

We are delighted to share with you the results of the recent IOT Patient Experience Survey, completed anonymously by patients of IOT registered Trichologists. 

This survey provides valuable insights into how patients perceive their experiences when consulting IOT registered Trichologists, from the ease of making appointments and the clarity of communication, to the professionalism, empathy, and expertise shown during consultations.

We are pleased to report that the overall feedback reflects an exceptionally high level of satisfaction, with patients consistently describing their Trichologists as professional, knowledgeable, and understanding. 

Many respondents also commented on the positive difference that consulting a Trichologist has made to both their hair and scalp health and their mental wellbeing, a testament to the care and professionalism demonstrated across our community.

These findings are highly relevant to the IOT’s mission to uphold the highest standards of professional practice and patient care, and they provide measurable evidence of the trust and confidence patients place in IOT registered Trichologists. 

The results will help us:

  • Identify areas of continued strength within trichological practice;
  • Support quality assurance and CPD initiatives;
  • Further highlight the importance of professional training and registration with the IOT; and
  • Demonstrate the value of Trichologists within the wider healthcare landscape.

Presentation of Results

  • The full quantitative results (Questions 1–20) are provided in chart and table format for easy review.
  • The answers for the ‘open-ended’ questions – “What did you appreciate least?” and What did you appreciate most? have been presented in full.

Together, these results provide a rich picture of how patients experience Trichological care and underscore the vital role of IOT Trichologists in improving both scalp health and patient wellbeing.
