A complaint was submitted to the Institute of Trichologists against an individual who is not currently on the register of the Institute of Trichologists, regarding treatments / procedures undertaken and services carried out, and the clinical setting of the individual’s practice.
A complaint was submitted to the Institute of Trichologists against a registrant of the Institute of Trichologists, accusing the CT of having no qualifications to make them fit to practice as a Trichologist.
A complaint was submitted to the Institute of Trichologists against an individual who is not currently on the register of the Institute of Trichologists. The individual was claiming to be an “AIT – Member of the Institute of Trichologists” on their individual and company website and social media channels.
A complaint was submitted to the Institute of Trichologists against two individuals who are not currently on the register or students of the Institute of Trichologists. The individuals were claiming the following on their websites and social media channels: to be a “certified hair loss practitioner studying with London’s Institute of Trichology” and to have “passed exams with The London Institute of Trichology”
A complaint submitted to the Institute of Trichologists against a registrant was initially reviewed by a panel of the Independent Ethics Council. The IEC referred the complaint to the Registration Council for further investigation to obtain a clear understanding of both party’s position in this complaint.
On 29 November 2024, a panel of Registration Council members (“the panel”) of the Institute of Trichologists held a formal hearing to consider the following allegation against a CT, referred to it by the Independent Ethics Council (“the IEC”). The areas of The Institute of Trichologists Code of Professional Practice and Ethics focussed upon were: Paragraph 14, Paragraph 33 and Paragraph 15.
